Joan M. Maydan, 79, of Edison, died at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, on Monday, December 2, 2013. She was born and raised in Staten Island NY, before moving to Newark in 1962 and then to Edison in 1966. Joan was a sales clerk at JC Penney in East Brunswick for 15 years before retiring in 1997. Joan was predeceased by her husband John Maydan in 2010, and her parents Joseph and Ruth Rao. Joan is survived by her sons, Mark J Maydan of Edison and Matthew J Maydan of Easton; her brother, Ronald Rao; her sister, Theresa; and grandchildren, Joseph Maydan and Casandra Dent. Funeral Services are Friday, December 6th at 10:00 a.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Ave., Edison; followed by entombment at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Family and friends may visit on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
