Obituary of James Guarini

James J. Guarini (Jim) left us to join his loved ones in Heaven on November 16, 2013, after a long illness. Jim was born in Bayonne, NJ on July 20, 1924. He lived a full life, proud of his service to his country as a U.S. Marine Jim fought in the Pacific in World War II. With his twin brother Jack, also fighting for his country. Jim was married to his sweetheart Evelyn in 1946 and together they raised six children. He worked for Public Service Electric & Gas in Linden, retiring after many years of devoted employment. He was an active man who spent his retired years enjoying long walks, bike rides, reading and time spent with his family. Jim was deeply loved by all who knew him, with no enemies. He had such a deep faith and remained pleasant, even when he was dealing with the pain of cancer. Jim was pre-deceased by his wife Evelyn, after 62 years of marriage; his three sisters, Viola, Kathryn, and Marian; his son Thomas, infant son George and son-in-law Bill Petrosie. He leaves behind his twin brother Jack and his wife Freda, his older sister Dorothy Donnenwirth of Florida, his children, James G. Guarini of Edison, son William Guarini of Kendall Park and partner, John Hall, his daughter, Joan Guarini Petrosie of Jackson, NJ, son John (Jack) Guarini of Edison, and daughter Evelyn Sutter and her husband Gary of Pine Beach, NJ., his "adopted" daughter Sue Flint of Broadheadsville, PA., and Mike. Also survived by his dear niece Linda Gadek of Dublin, OH, and her spouse Tim Frederich. Jim was grandfather (The Best) to 9 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of whom will truly miss their Pop-Pop. Viewings are from the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison, NJ on Tuesday, November 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Church services are Wednesday, November 20th at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish at Guardian Angels Church in Edison at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
