Obituary of Donald James Redmond

Donald J. Redmond, 83, of Milltown, passed away on January 16, 2019 at Parker at McCarrick in Somerset. Donald was a member of the Knights of Columbus 257 and the Elks, both in New Brunswick. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, New Brunswick, where he was an usher. Donald was an avid fisherman who loved trips to Pt. Pleasant and Atlantic City. He enjoyed many weddings, functions, and happy times with his Michigan family. He was a truly kind and devoted man to his family and friends.  His thoughtful and kind ways will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

 

While at Parker at McCarrick, Donald received outstanding and loving care from the entire staff of doctors, nurses, aides and also Janet Patullo, his cousin Jack’s daughter. He enjoyed time spent with his constant visitors and loving friends, Eileen Muller and Catherine Doyle.

 

Donald was predeceased by his loving sister, Virginia Wing; his brother, Joseph with whom he worked side by side at Redmond’s Appliances; and a cousin, John W. Redmond. Donald is survived by his sister, Patricia Szucs and brother-in-law, John Szucs; his loving companion, Arlene Mowery of Milltown; his nephews, John Szucs and his wife Shelley and Christopher Szucs and his fiancé Roxanne; a niece Suzanne Murray and her husband Mike.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 4-7PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 22 at 10AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown.  Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick.
