Ruth Wolchko

Ruth Wolchko, 91, of Edison, New Jersey, died peacefully at home on November 30, 2018 with her family at her side. Born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania on October 6, 1927, Ruth was the daughter of Clifford and Elsie Powell. She grew up in Nanticoke and East Orange, New Jersey where she graduated from East Orange High School in 1945.

Ruth married her devoted husband Joseph Wolchko on April 9, 1949 and settled in Edison where they raised three children. Ruth worked as a homemaker, in retail sales, and at Curtis Industries. She enjoyed reading and crocheting afghans, but most of all Ruth loved traveling with Joe in their trailer to camp every winter in Florida.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Marian Waeckerling, her brother-in-law, Ralph Waeckerling, and son-in-law, Richard Noble.

Those who remain to remember Ruth are her husband, Joseph, and their three children Kathi Halloran of Aspers, Pennsylvania, Patti Noble of Toms River, and Clifford Wolchko of Edison. Ruth is also survived by grandchildren, Tina Noble and Richard Noble, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Professional services are entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison, NJ. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 until 4 pm on Tuesday, December 4, with a service at 3:30.

Contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
