Joseph Palus

Obituary of Joseph Palus

Joseph Palus passed away on October 8, 2018, at his home.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ to Joseph and Mary Palus, Joe was a longtime resident of Edison.  He was employed as an Iron Worker and worked for Local 480 in Elizabeth for many years.

During his lifetime Joe was an avid fisherman, but always left time for weekend Mass.  In addition, he loved playing guitar, Blackjack, Sudoku, doing Tai chi and traveling the world with his wife Pauline.

When Joe’s children were young, he was active in Scouting and was a Cubmaster and Webelos leader for Troop 12.  Joe was a craftsman and jack of all trades.  He built his shore house, a boat, and held several patents.  Joe enjoyed being in the outdoors and camping throughout the United States and Canada.  Furthermore, he enjoyed the spirits of a Gin and tonic or a Dewar’s and water.  Joe also enjoyed dry jokes.

He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Edward, and his sisters Mary Shutt, Elizabeth Trojan and Eleanor Palus.  Joseph is survived by his loving wife Pauline, his sons Joseph and David, his daughter Laura Pena-Palus and her partner Evelyn and his granddaughters Victoria and Alexandra.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, October 12th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 13th at 10 a.m.  at Guardian Angels Church in Edison.
