Obituary of Ann M. Trent

Ann M. Trent, 96, of New Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Metuchen, she was a resident of New Brunswick most of her life.

Mrs. Trent was a member of the first graduating class of St. Francis Grade School. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School Class of 1938. She would go on to work in New Brunswick at the Children’s Home during World War II, helping children, something she took great pride in. She worked in Admitting at Middlesex Hospital, and also for Dr. William Rubin in New Brunswick. She was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church. She also was an avid tennis and N.Y. Yankees fan. Ann also had a lifelong interest in literature and poetry and a connection to Italian culture.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard J. Trent, Sr., a New Brunswick Police Officer for 30 years, in 2012. She was the youngest of 10 children; all of her siblings predecease her. Surviving are her two sons, Richard J. Trent, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Somerset, and William A. Trent of New Brunswick; her three grandchildren: Paisley Trent, Carolyn Abreu, and Richard J. Trent; and two great-grandchildren: Emily and Serena Abreu.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1 pm at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, New Brunswick.  Arrangements are under the care of Boylan Funeral Home, New Brunswick.
