Obituary of Dorothy Baldwin Crawford

Dorothy Baldwin Crawford stepped into eternal life on August 22, 2017. She was 88 years old.

She was born April 8, 1929 in Newark, NJ. She lived in Keansburg prior to completing her RN through Orange Memorial Hospital. Upon her marriage, she resided in Edison from 1950 until her death.

 A woman of many talents, she was a gifted writer and played several instruments, but her driving passions were her family and her many generations of rescue animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Paterson Crawford, and is survived by one son and six daughters: William Paterson Crawford, Jr., of Somerset, Dr. Candice Crawford, of Louisville, KY, Robin Puppo and Claudia Crawford-Manning, both of Sunrise, FL, Doriann Crawford, of Bridgewater, Jaimie Crawford Smith, of Arnold, MD, and Erin-Leigh Van Orden, of Edison. She leaves a legacy of 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Sunday, August 27 from 2PM – 4PM and 7PM – 9PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison.  There will be a Funeral Mass at 9:30AM on Monday, August 28 at St. Matthew the Apostle Church.  Interment will follow at CloverLeaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.

 In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Crawford requested that her life be honored by saving other lives through donations to the SPCA.
