Doris H. Dawalt, 83, died on Friday, July 19, 2013. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Ave., Edison, N.J., followed by a private cremation. Family and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24. Born in East Orange, N.J., Mrs. Dawalt was raised in Roselle Park, N.J., where she was a graduate of Roselle Park High School and was a longtime resident of Edison, N.J. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a licensed practical nurse at JFK Medical Center. Doris was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church in Metuchen, N.J. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald, in 1979, and her parents, Charles and Jean Lawrence. She is survived by her son, Donald "Skip" Dawalt, his wife, Michelle, and children, Joshua and Jamie, of Kansas City, Mo.; her sister, Ruth Lolla and husband, Richard, of Toms River, N.J., and sisters-in-law, Mae Selest and Helen Miller.
