Lois Louise Martin, (née Barrett,) 90, died at Robert Wood University Hospital in New Brunswick on Thursday, September 25, 2014. Lois was born January 23, 1924. She was one of nine children and raised in Newark, before moving to Edison in 1959. She worked for Kresge Department Store in Newark as a shipping and receiving clerk, and she also worked at Grants Company in Edison as a sales associate. Lois loved to garden and grow flowers and vegetables. Lois was predeceased by her husband, William J Martin in 2005; her parents, John and Dora Barrett; her brothers, Jack, Willie Tom, Howard and sister Dotty. She is survived by her sons, Tom of Edison and Scott of Monroe; her 3 brothers, Joe of Toms River, Donald and his wife Claudia of Utah and Fred and his wife Mary of Whiting. Funeral Services are Sunday, September 28 at 8:00 p.m., at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue in Edison, followed by a private cremation. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
