Obituary of Francis Egan

Francis M. "Frank" Egan of New Brunswick died Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the New Jersey Veteran's Home in Menlo Park, He was 93 years old. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong resident of the city. Frank was employed as an Officer for the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department for twenty years, retiring thirty one years ago. He was an Army Veteran, serving in the Pacific during World War II. He was also a communicant of St. Peter's R.C. Church and member of the Catholic War Veteran's Post 757 and was also former Treasurer of UAW Local in New Brunswick. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife of fifty five years, Louise (Derks) Egan; four brothers, Thomas, Joseph, John, and George; two sisters, Sr. Joseph Vincent Egan and Mary Walnum. Surviving are his son Michael and wife Patricia Egan of Monroe; two daughters Marian Egan of Monroe and Susan Egan of Daytona Beach, Florida. Also surviving are six grandchildren Michael and Dennis Egan, John and Elizabeth Connelly, Allison Lyons and Bonnie Farber; fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30 at 9:30 a.m. from the Boylan Funeral Home 188 Easton Avenue in New Brunswick followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, July 29 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Frank's name to the Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types (FIRST), 2616 N. Broad Street Colmar, PA 18915 or St. Peter's Church, 94 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
