Obituary of John Mangino

John 'Peabody' Mangino passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. He was born and raised in Newark, NJ, moved to Edison in 1959. In 2005 he moved to Burlington, NJ. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. John was employed at Serratella Trucking in Newark and Moore's Trucking Co. in Piscataway before retiring. John is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Eugenia Baratta Mangino; his son Gary Anthony; his daughter Annette Thornton; his daughters and sons-in-law; Michele and Joseph Morris; Gina Marie and Cliff Lichter; JoAnne and Michael Gokey; sister, Angie Lomonte; Brother James, his wife Elsie; sister-in-law Anne Mangino; and ten grandchildren, and his many nieces and nephews. 'Peabody' was pre-deceased by his parents; Antoinette & Michael Mangino; his sisters, Celeste Gresch, Margaret Grasso, Mary Feo; his brother Michael Mangino; and his son-in-law John Thornton. Visitation hours on Sunday, July 6, 2014, will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison NJ. Mass will be held Monday, July 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Guardian Angels, Edison, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in John's name to Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
