Obituary of Gloria O'Hara

Gloria O'Hara, (née Cassera,) died on Monday, April 28, 2014, at St Joseph's Home in Lawrenceville. Born in New Brunswick and was a lifetime resident of the city. Mrs. O'Hara was past Registrar of Vital Statistics for the City of New Brunswick retiring in April 1992. She was a 6th Ward Committewoman for years also serving on the Board of Adjustment of New Brunswick. Mrs. O'Hara was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Church in New Brunswick and also past president of St. Peter's Rosary Society and past President of St. Peter's University Hospital Auxillary. A veteran of WWII serving in the WAVES, she was a member of WAVES National and Local Garden State Chapter WAVES Unit #6. Mrs. O'Hara was a builder of miniature antique houses, including a general store and a school house changing the theme each month. She was predeceased by her husband Richard T. O'Hara in 2001 and a daughter Colleen O'Hara Maley in 1995. She is survived by her son-in-law John J. Maley, a granddaughter Melissa Maley and a grandson Patrick Maley and his wife Jackie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2, at 9:30 a.m. from the Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue in New Brunswick, followed by a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Peeter the Apostle R.C. church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Funeral Home on Thursday, May 1st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
