Obituary of Kathleen Mary Healey

EDISON - KATHLEEN MARY HEALEY died at home on March 16th, 2024. Kathleen was 55 years old. Kathleen was born in New Brunswick, NJ, and raised in New Brunswick, Edison, Sicklerville, and Cherry Hill, NJ. She graduated from Cherry Hill High School East in 1986. Kathleen wrote and delivered the Benediction speech at her Class of 1986 graduation ceremony. The last sentence was, “We can make a difference.” Kathleen also studied classical piano from the time she was seven years old and into college, and was an accomplished pianist. She had initially attended Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts as a theatre and music major, then transferred to Rutgers College, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where she earned a Baccalaureate of Arts degree in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies. Kathleen was a Henry Rutgers Scholar, graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and was the recipient of the Frank T. Gorman Award for excellence in the Arabic language. After graduating college, Kathleen was matriculated at Rutgers Law School, Newark, where she earned a Juris Doctorate degree and then was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1996. Kathleen opened her own law practice on November 28th, 2000 on Spring Street in New Brunswick, NJ, and over the next twenty-four years, moved her office to East Brunswick, then to Metuchen, and lastly, to Edison, NJ. Kathleen specialized in Family Law. Kathleen had a love of little critters. She owned cats, dogs, rats, mice, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, and goldfish, but not all at one time. Kathleen is survived by her mother, Anna Louise Forner of Edison, NJ; and her sister, Anne Marie Healey, also of Edison, NJ. She is predeceased by her father, Patrick Michael Healey. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 16th, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home in Edison, NJ. Interment will follow at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick, NJ.
