Obituary of Gerald Boylan

Gerald T. Boylan, 81, died on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in New Brunswick. Born and raised in the city, he attended St. Peter's High school before enlisting in the United States Air Force. Upon leaving the military Gerald began working for Middlesex County where he retired in 1984 as Deputy County Clerk. He was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in New Brunswick and St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Lavallette. While in Lavallette, Gerald served as the treasurer of the Lavallette Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betsy; his sons, Thomas and wife Alice of New Brunswick, Gerald and wife Cindy of Lebanon; his daughter, Carol Boylan Odinzoff of Anchorage, AK; his brother, Thomas and wife Bette of New Brunswick; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 5th, at 9:30 a.m. from the Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue in New Brunswick, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Funeral Home on Sunday, May 4th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gerald's name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
