Obituary of Emanuel Samuels

Emanuel Philip Samuels, 90, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Bayville, NY, passed away peacefully April 1, 2014. "Phil" was born in Bronx, NY on September 27, 1923. He was a proud member of the United States Navy SeaBees Division, and served in combat duty during WWII. Phil was the husband of the late Elizabeth Solimo Samuels, and was a shining example of a loving and devoted husband to all who knew them during their 52 years of marriage. He also enjoyed nothing better than a good card game with his family or sharing one of his challenging riddles with his grandchildren. Phil is predeceased by his brother Arthur, and sisters Pauline and Virginia. He is survived by his sister Caroline Brown, his 5 children: daughter Kathryn Simek, and sons: Philip, Stephen, James and John. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: grandsons Stephen, Matthew, Philip, and Robert Samuels; granddaughters: Lisa Allison, Dana Poster, Jenny-Elizabeth Farnsworth, Jennifer Davis, Samantha Simek, and Shana Samuels. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2014, from 6 to 9 PM, at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison NJ. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014, 10 AM, at the Funeral Home followed by a Military Honors Ceremony and burial at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Route 1, Woodbridge, NJ.
