Obituary of Frank W. Mahon

Frank W. Mahon 75, of Milltown peacefully ascended to the arms of the Lord on September 26, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born February 14, 1947 in New Brunswick, NJ to William and Caroline Mahon, Frank was a true testament of being born on Valentine's Day showing a tremendous amount of love for his family. Frank attended the Milltown public school system then New Brunswick High School and New Brunswick Vocational School. After graduating Vocational School, he attended Middlesex County College studying business and career management. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and served from 1966 to 1968 on the U.S.S. Bushnell (a submarine tender). After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Frank was employed by Irvington Iron Works located in New Brunswick, NJ and Decco Engineering in Middlesex, NJ, both as a detail designer. Later in his working career he was employed at W.L. Sherman in Somerville, NJ and Rotator Services in East Brunswick, NJ as a job placement specialist. Frank enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, and admiring classic cars. He also enjoyed his two sons playing sports throughout the years and later in life, watching his grandchildren play sports. He also loved Rutgers sports after both his sons attended same. Surviving is his wife, Arlene (Werner) Mahon having just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 16, 2022; his son, Frank Mahon and his wife Margo of East Brunswick, NJ, his son Matthew and his wife Mirjana of Howell, NJ; brother Michael Mahon and his wife Cynthia of Spotswood, NJ; sister Carol Ann Holster and her husband Neil of Bloomingdale, NJ; along with his loving grandchildren, Mila, Liam, May, and Nathaniel who were the light of his life. He also leaves his cousins, Charlie, Tommy, Tim, Jim, Rita, George, Deb, whose company Frank enjoyed immensely. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 29th at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 233 North Main Street, Milltown. Entombment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 Rt. 27, North Brunswick, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Frank’s name to Somerset Hills Learning Institute, 1810 Burnt Mills Road, Bedminster, NJ 07921 at somerset-hills.org
