Obituary of Bryant "Red" Deegan

Bryant “Red” Deegan, 85, of New Brunswick, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Red was a lifelong resident of New Brunswick. He served his country in the United States Navy as an Officer during the Korean War. He was a sheet metal worker and an international business agent for Local #27 as well as the assistant to Mayor Cahill in New Brunswick. Back in the 70’s and 80’s Red ran tri- county basketball for 20 years at St. Peter’s High School gym. Red was predeceased by his wife, Marie Deegan in 2006; his parents, John and Margaret Deegan; and his brother, James Deegan. He is survived by his children, Brian J. Deegan and his wife Cindy, Andrew J. Deegan, Julianne Yetsko and her husband Gary and Kathleen Deegan; sister, Mary Ellen Clark; along with 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 6-9PM at Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue, New Brunswick. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, 10AM at St. Peter the Apostle Church, New Brunswick. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bryant’s memory may be made to the Oncology Unit Fund at Saint Peter’s University Hospital.
