Obituary of Richard W. Mohrmann

Richard W. Mohrmann “Rick”, 76, of Edison passed away Monday, May 30, 2022, at Menlo Park Veteran’s Home in Edison and is now in God’s loving hands. Born in Astoria, Queens Rick grew up in Cobleskill, NY and Atlanta, GA. He has resided in Edison, NJ for the past 40 years. Rick proudly served his country with the Marine Corps doing two tours in Vietnam and was a marksman instructor at Parris Island. He received many honors including Presidential Unit Citation, Pistol Expert and Rifle Sharpshooter. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Kean College. He was employed by Engelhard for many years and ultimately retired from Myles F Kelly, in Harrison in 2014. Rick was predeceased by his mother, Margaret; and sister, Barbara Sartin. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elaine (Hoy); and his children Erica and Kevin. He was a beloved Uncle to Victoria O’Boyle, Trey Sartin and numerous nieces and nephews. Rick always said how fortunate he was to have a very close relationship with the Hoy family and his many sisters-in-law, Michelle Feeney, Regina Hoy, Patricia McElroy, Lorraine Hoy, and Sharon Borcsak. Rick had respect for all living things. He loved children, animals, and keeping up with world events. He was kind, gentle, and humble. His favorite places were Ocean City, MD and Lake George, NY. Rick loved spending time with his family and watching the stock market. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in his name to the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home in Edison. The family would like to thank the many wonderful care givers there. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 9:30am-11:30am at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison, NJ. Interment will follow at BG William C. Doyle Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
