Obituary of Alexander Russo

Alexander J. "Chubby" Russo of Highland Park passed away Wednesday, February 5. 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, He was 72 years old. Born in New Brunswick, Chubby lived there until moving to Highland Park 46 years ago, living with his nieces Lisa and Darcy Devine. Chubby worked for the Middlesex County Road Department for 25 years retiring 15 years ago. He was an Army Veteran serving during peacetime, a member of New Brunswick Elks Lodge 324 and was better known as the original "Pig Man". He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Rose Russo; two brothers, Joseph and Dominick Russo; and three sisters, Louise Devine, Rose Russo, and Ann Barett. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Christy Diotis; a stepson, Sean Osieja; a brother, Frank of North Brunswick; and a sister, Mary Harley of Benton, PA. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 8, at 10:00 a.m. from the Boylan Funeral Home, 188 Easton Avenue in New Brunswick. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday, February 7, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
