Edward W. Glidden, affectionately known to his friends and family as "Big Ed". Big Ed was born and raised in Edison, New Jersey. His entire working career was devoted to his job as a driver with Edison Township for the Department of Sanitation. He was loved by all the residents on his route. He retired recently and was enjoying his retirement. He spent much of his free time caring for his sister Elizabeth, whom he called "Sis". Even when he was not well himself, he visited her daily at the nursing home bringing her flowers, fresh food and gifts. He was entirely devoted to her, his family, his friends, and his pets, especially his dog Sasha. Big Ed was quick with a smile and easy with all the people he would come into contact with. Big Ed is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Wall; his nephew, Joe Wirtz and his wife Beatrice; and two great nieces Chloe and Emma. He is also survived by his nephew, Frank Wall. It was time for me to go. I'm sorry I could not say goodbye. Look for me above the clouds, way up in the sky. In the morning the sun will rise and all the world will be new. Look for me and I'll be looking at you. When the snow comes down and is falling all around, catch me before I reach the ground. Listen for me in the silence. I am all around. In the evening when the sun sets and all the world is through, just look for me and love me I'll be close to you. It won't be forever the day will come and then my loving arms will hold you when we meet again. It's time for us to part now we will not say goodbye. Look for me above the clouds way up in the sky. Look for me and love me as you know I loved you. Just wish me to be near you and I'll be there with you. I'm in your heart. Family and friends are invited to gather at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Morganville.
