Obituary of Joseph Russo Jr.

Joseph Jacob Russo, Jr., 87, passed away at his residence in Edison on Sunday, June 2, 2013. He was born on October 3, 1925 in New Brunswick NJ. One of seven children, he resided in Edison NJ since the 1950's. Prior to serving in WWII Joe was awarded "NYA worker most valuable to war production" at the national Youth administration resident center in Verona, NJ. Enlisted in the Army in 1944, he trained in Fort Benning GA and Camp McCall in NC. Shortly after he joined the fighting 82nd airborne troopers as a paratrooper he was overseas in part of France and Germany. He then proceeded to work at Richardson and Company in Highland Park before retiring from General Motors in Linden. He was a member of St. Matthew the Apostle Church in Edison and an active member of the Edison AARP #3446 Chapter. "Be kind I have no regrets" Joe Russo. He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen Pawlowski in 1989 and is survived by his daughters, Margaret and her husband Wayne Greener of Lakewood NJ, Barbara Russo of Pearland Texas, Josephine Krasnoff of South Brunswick and son, Joseph and his wife Kineta Russo of Bear DE, also his wife of 18 years, Elaine (Bacsik) Russo and four grandchildren, Ian Greener, Alexandria Krasnoff and Joseph and Ryleigh Russo. His sole surviving brother, Anthony Russo and his wife Suzanne of Harrington DE. Funeral Services will take place at 9:00 am Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Ave., Edison; followed by a 9:30 am Mass at St. Mathew the Apostle RC Church in Edison; interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the Funeral Home.
