Obituary of John R. Thomas

John Roland “Jack” Thomas Senior, 84, passed away from natural complications on Tuesday, February 13th ,2018.  John was born March 21, 1933 in Orange, New Jersey to John and Mary (Edmunds) Thomas.  Jack was a hard-working devoted gentleman that served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He brought a smile each day to his family and friends as a long-time resident of Succasunna, New Jersey. Jack will be remembered for his quick wit, well-read engineering mind, a stellar history-buff , and playing Santa Clause in his home town of Succasunna for many years.  Jack was a kind-soul who was admired by many in his industry and at the NJ Veterans home.

 

John is survived by his four sons; Peter (Diane), William (Christine), John Jr. (Leslie), and Michael (Maria), and 9 grandchildren, Peter, Michael, Kyle, Kevin, Ryan, Alex, Kristina, Nicholas and Sean. 

 

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Thomas, his parents John & Mary, and his brothers Richard and William. 

 

A service will be held at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, 56-80 Cedar Grove Road in Toms River, New Jersey at 11 am on Friday, February 16th.  Questions may be directed to Boylan’s Funeral Home of Edison, NJ at 732-572-0076.
