Lisa Qian

Obituary of Lisa Qian

Lisa Qian of Montgomery passed away, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

Lisa was born in Somerset Medical Center, graduating first from Montgomery High School and then magna cum laude from Rutgers University. She was actively pursuing her dreams of becoming a doctor as a 4th year medical student at New York Medical College.

For 24 lucky years, we were graced with her artistic talents, inspiring enthusiasm and endless compassion for helping others. When she wasn’t dutifully studying, Lisa could be found longboarding in the wilderness, tending to her adorable succulent garden, or sewing an epic halloween costume.

Her short time did not limit her ambitions and achievements. Lisa acquired over 10 years of formal arts training and Chinese language instruction, and dedicated over 1,500 hours of volunteer services to her local EMT squad. She followed her passions for humanitarian outreach to both Panama and Ghana, where she provided free medical services to underserved communities.

She is survived by her father Jipeng Qian, her mother Danping Fang and her older sister Katy Qian.

We invite family and friends to celebrate her on Sunday, September 10, 2017, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, located at 188 Easton Avenue in New Brunswick, NJ, with a service starting at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of gifts, Lisa would want a donation to be made in her name to the “Lupus Research Alliance” to support medical advances in the education, prevention and treatment of this autoimmune disease.

Lisa, may your eternal smile shine upon us all. We will always love you.
