Robert G. Kooken, 61, of Piscataway passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at JFK Haven Hospice in Edison after a brief illness. He was born in Newark on November 8, 1955. He graduated from Edison High School and attended Rutgers before joining the Navy for six years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Edison. He was in restaurant management for 45 years, most recently at Five Guys. Bob enjoyed the Yankees, Devils, and his beloved bird Buddy. He was a good and caring man and will never be forgotten. Mr. Kooken was predeceased by his father Robert Kooken in 2015. Surviving are his mother Norma and sister Susan. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2-6 pm at Boylan Funeral Home located at 10 Wooding Ave., Edison. Funeral services will begin at 5 pm. Cremation will be private.
