Obituary of Marie Cosimano

Marie C. Cosimano, 93, of Edison, passed away Tuesday May 16, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Sicily, Italy, she immigrated to Brooklyn, NY at age six, moved to Edison, where she has resided for 60 years. She was a seamstress in Manhattan, where she created and designed wedding gowns. As a working mother, she was employed by Westinghouse in Edison and General Cable in New Brunswick until she retired in 1985. She was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Highland Park, where she volunteered countless hours supporting the rectory, convent, and school. She served as an officer on the PTA, and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Marie also enjoyed active participation in the Edison Senior Citizens organization. Marie will always be remembered for her endless compassion and concern for others, which endeared her to all of her family, friends, and whomever she encountered. Her faith and love guided her throughout her life. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Christopher Cosimano, and her two grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer. Surviving are her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Agnes and Ken Logan of Spotswood and Sandra Cosimano and Robert Hellauer of Tewksbury; son and daughter-in-law, Salvatore and Christine Cosimano of Wrentham MA; and 6 grandchildren Carolyn, Tim, Katie, Gina, Rob and Christopher. Funeral Services will be held Monday May 22, at 9:15 am from the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Ave., Edison, followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. Paul the Apostle RC Church in Highland Park. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Visitation will be on Sunday May 21, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to either The Oncology Research Fund at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia or The Abramson Cancer Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
