Obituary of Francis Cronin

Francis J. Cronin, 83, of North Brunswick, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at home. Born in Roselle, he was raised in New Brunswick and lived in Highland Park before moving to North Brunswick in 1996. Francis graduated St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick and went on to serve in the United States Navy during the Korean War, before being honorably discharged in 1953. He was a Journeyman electrician and member of Local 456 IBEW, where he served as an officer and trustee for many years, before his retirement. Francis was predeceased by his adoring wife Marilyn Cronin in 2015, his parents Michael and Anne (Gallagher) Cronin, his brother Dennis M. Cronin, and his sister Margaret Tedesco Cronin. Surviving are his children Kelly Stevens and her husband Edward of Apple Valley, MN, Eileen Kuc and her husband Jeffrey of Hillsborough, Dennis F. Cronin and his wife Karen of North Brunswick, and Katy Stumbaugh and her husband Shawn of Morrisville, PA. Also surviving are his 11 loving grandchildren: E.J., Meghan, and Connor Stevens, Jessica, Jeffrey, and Matthew Kuc, Hannah and Kerry Cronin, and Ryan, Shannon, and Erin Stumbaugh; his beloved sister in laws Alice Cronin and Eileen Bicsko (Jack), as well as his devoted caregiver Abbey Amponsah, and many nieces and nephews. Francis will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends; his devotion and love of all will forever remain in their hearts and memories. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 18 at 9:15 am at Boylan Funeral Home 188 Easton Ave., New Brunswick, followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace R. C. Church in North Brunswick. Entombment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 17 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. Officers and members of Local 456 IBEW will meet at the funeral home for a prayer service at 6pm.
